One of my favorite things to do while in Colombia was wander the beautiful streets of Cartagena. The Old Town of Cartagena is situation in the middle of a historic wall built back when Columbia was first settled. The wall prevented pirates from overtaking the city, and it still remains today. Inside these walls are beautiful pastel buildings crawling with vines and floral window boxes. It was one of the prettiest sites to see, and in no way do these photos do it justice. It reminds me of something out of a movie. We wandered Old Town almost every day because I couldn’t get enough of this view.
This OTS dress couldn’t have been more perfect for the setting. I didn’t realize it when I bought this dress, but Colombia’s country colors are blue, red and yellow. I felt very patriotic and received so many compliments from the locals.
I have to admit, Cartagena was never a destination listed at the top of my bucket list, but I am SO glad we were able to take a trip here. We traveled to the city to attend a wedding, and I couldn’t be more happy fate pushed us to visit beautiful place. If you have never considered visiting Cartagena, I recommend you push this beautiful city to the top of your list! Pronto.
